Coaching & Accountability Support

Why Coaching

There are lots of choices on how to get "unstuck" and to help you realize your fullest potential, but how do you know which type of service is best for you?

Coaching vs. Therapy

  • Both psychotherapy and coaching use knowledge of human behavior, motivation and behavioral change, and interactive techniques. The major differences are in the goals, focus, and level of professional responsibility.

  • Psychotherapy explores where you are now in relation to current and past experiences and helps you work on resolving and healing from old stuff so you can get on with being your best self in the present and future.

  • Coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to be, assuming you are well-equipped with everything you need to become your best self.

  • In coaching, the work is typically very goal-oriented and will have specific, measurable markers to indicate progress. Therapy may also be goal-oriented, but the objectives focus on developing deeper insights.

  • If you have an emotional or mental health challenge (like anxiety, depression, OCD, or post-traumatic stress disorder), a psychotherapist will be able to help you in ways that a coach or transformation mentor simply can't. However, psychotherapists are also trained to help with the same issues as coaches; it isn't necessary to have a mental health problem to talk with a licensed therapist, but if you do have a mental health issue, a coach cannot help you with that.

  • If you don't have emotional or mental health challenges but do have challenges overcoming obstacles, improving relationships, navigating challenging transitions (divorce, re-careering, dating), increasing life satisfaction, or excelling at a sport or vocation, a coach may be perfect for your needs.

Coaching With Brenda

As a coach and accountability partner, I encourage and guide you through various professional and personal issues. As your coach, I can help you with specific professional projects, personal goals, and transitions. I will help you grow by analyzing your current situation, identifying limiting beliefs, obstacles, and other potential challenges, and then collaborating with you to develop a custom plan of action to help you achieve the desired outcomes.

How does coaching help?

Accountability

Typically, we will meet weekly via 60-minute scheduled video chats. These regularly scheduled calls create urgency and accountability to help you get more done than you might if left to your own devices. Think about it: if you're like me, when you work out with a personal trainer at the gym, you work much harder than on your own, right? My clients take bolder actions, set bigger goals, and think big picture when they work with me, which helps propel them toward directions they never thought possible.

Expertise

As an experienced and trained coach and energy practitioner, I know how to help you set the right goals and structure your personal and professional life to achieve greater productivity with less effort. If you work, you’ll achieve more in less time with my input, guidance, and support.

Delivery:

In my experience as a successful entrepreneur, Corporate America professional, and energy healer, I have learned that people are more likely to change by the reasons they themselves discover than those that come from someone else.

My practice leans on the principles of the humanistic psychology of Carl Rogers, which indicates for a person to “grow,” they need an environment that provides them with genuine openness that enables self-disclosure, acceptance that includes being seen with unconditional positive regard, and empathy where the person genuinely feels like they are being listened to and understood.

Motivations to change don’t take brow-beating or nagging when you are working with me, but I won’t sugarcoat it. I will speak the truth, even when it's uncomfortable for you, and help you tap into your deep, authentic self-motivation to change!

Speed

Most people find that things start to happen quickly after working with me, but honestly, it's up to you: are you ready to do the work?
